France: “St. Thomas Aquinas Days” in December 2023
On the occasion of the 700th anniversary of the canonization of St. Thomas Aquinas, the St. Pius X University Institute is organizing St. Thomas Aquinas Days on Saturday, December 2, and Sunday, December 3, 2023. Here is the program.
Saturday December 2, conference “Discovering Saint Thomas Aquinas,” at the crypt of the Notre-Dame de Consolation chapel, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., 23 rue Jean Goujon 75008 Paris

- The Summa Theologica or the Pedagogy of St. Thomas, by Fr. Gabriel Billecocq
- Harmony Between the Natural Order and the Supernatural Order, by Fr. François-Marie Chautard
- St. Thomas Master of the Moral and Spiritual Life, by Fr. Bernard de Lacoste
- St. Thomas Common Doctor of the Church, by Fr. Daniele di Sorco

In 2024, for the 750th anniversary of the death of St. Thomas Aquinas, the St. Pius X University Institute will allow the public to learn about the work of the study seminar of specialists gathered in Paris the two previous days, April 4 and 5.
During this year 2024, from May 18 to 20, the Pentecost pilgrimage from Chartres to Paris will have the theme: “Seeking God with St. Thomas Aquinas.” The doctrinal and spiritual file of the pilgrimage will be available in fall 2023.
In 2025, the year of the 800th anniversary of the birth of St. Thomas Aquinas, Thomist Days are planned in Rome and Toulouse where the relics of the Angelic Doctor are located. The dates of these days will be communicated in due course.
The St. Pius X University Institute is holding these previewed studies over three years, under the authority of the teachings of Leo XIII who solemnly wrote in is encyclical Æterni Patris (August 4, 1879): “We exhort you, venerable [Dominican] brethren, in all earnestness to restore the golden wisdom of St. Thomas, and to spread it far and wide for the defense and beauty of the Catholic faith, for the good of society, and for the advantage of all the sciences.”
