Month of the Sacred Heart: Heart of Jesus, Propitiation for Our Sins

Devotion to His love and reparation made to His offended love can be addressed to Jesus triumphant in Heaven, and to Calvary, to the Cenacle, the Manger; but they must especially be directed towards the adorable Eucharist.

The Eucharist is the mystery most dear to the devotion to the Sacred Heart, the mystery to which St. Margaret Mary incessantly returned. And I wonder if the movement that in our days is drawing souls to the Blessed Sacrament and that fills them, without neglecting the Cross, with such an attraction for paying their diligent and ardent homage to Jesus on our altars did not begin with the revelations of this holy nun in Paray-le-Monial and with the cult of the Sacred Heart of which she was the main initiator.

In any case, if we wish to follow her example and lessons, it is in the Eucharist that we must, like her, love to contemplate all the mysteries of Jesus. She did not neglect in any way the mysteries of His hidden life or of His suffering life; but she saw all these mysteries, so to speak, in the Blessed Host.

Did not Our Lord appear to her one day in the Blessed Sacrament, under the figure of the Ecce Homo?
