The new seminarians at Zaitzkofen Seminary

The seminarians’ return to the seminaries of the Society of Saint Pius X, which takes place at the beginning of October in the northern hemisphere and in March in the southern hemisphere, has now taken place, and it is clear that the Providence has blessed the Society for this year.

The number of new seminarians in the first year or spirituality year breaks down as follows by seminary:

Saint Thomas Aquinas Seminary, Dillwyn, USA

28 entries: 25 Americans, 2 Canadians and 1 Brazilian.

Herz-Jesu Seminary, Zaitzkofen, Germany

21 entries: 9 Poles, 6 Germans, 2 Croatians, 1 Austrian, 1 Danish, 1 Hungarian, and 1 Dutch.

This entry is the most important in this seminary since its creation. Due to the growth in vocations in recent years, the capacity to accommodate candidates has reached its limit and the Sacred Heart Seminary must consider expanding.

Saint-Curé d’Ars Seminary in Flavigny, France

21 entries: 14 French, 2 Italians, 1 English, 1 Brazilian, 1 Indian, 1 Sri Lankan, 1 Swiss.

Nostra Señora Corredentora Seminary, La Reja, Argentina

9 entries: 2 Argentinians, 2 Brazilians, 2 Mexicans, 1 Chilean, 1 Nicaraguan, and 1 Nigerian.

This represents 79 entries in total, over the calendar year, the largest number of new seminarians that the SSPX's seminaries have known.

It is an occasion for a great thanksgiving to the Master of the harvest, as each vocation is a kind of small miracle in the current world.

We must therefore continue to pray, on the one hand for the perseverance of these vocations who are beginning their seminary formation, and on the other hand to obtain new harvests that are just as – and even more – abundant.
