Seminary of St. Thomas Aquinas: Investiture and Tonsure - 2024
On February 2, 2024, on the feast of the Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple and the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Bishop Bernard Fellay invested 19 seminarians in the cassock and conferred the tonsure on 23 others at the Seminary of St. Thomas Aquinas in Dillwyn, Virginia.
The feast of the Presentation is a traditional date for these ceremonies. They took place on the same day in the other seminaries of the Society of Saint Pius X.
Among those who received the cassock, there were 17 Americans, one Canadian, and one South African. As for the new clerics who received the tonsure, 22 were American and one was Brazilian.
Let us pray for the perseverance of these 42 young men.
