On Sunday, November 17, His Excellency Bishop Alfonso de Galarreta ordained two priests for the Society of St. Josaphat in Lviv, Ukraine. This ordination brings to 21 the number of priests ordained by the bishops of the Society of Saint Pius X for this friend-of-Tradition community. A delegation from the Zaitzkofen seminary was present for this ceremony.

The Holy Fraternity of Hieromartyr-Saint-Josaphat-Koncévitch, better known as the Priestly Fraternity of Saint-Josaphat (SSJK), is a society of Ukrainian Catholic priests.

Placed under the patronage of St. Josaphat Koncévitch (1584-1623), the Fraternity was founded in 2000 by Fr. Basil Kovpak. Its purpose is the formation of priests and parish apostolates. It maintains a particular line of the Ukrainian Greco-Catholic Church's tradition and uses the Byzantine Rite.

Fr. Patrice Laroche, a professor at Zaitzkofen and multilingual, comes to teach regularly during the school year.

One of the Fraternity’s priests, Fr. Olexij Koshla, is spending a year in Zaitzkofen to strengthen the SSJK's ties with the Society of Saint Pius X.
