Catholic Doctrine: The Sacrament of Baptism (1)

January 17, 2019

Jesus Christ is the Son of God made man. This truth revealed by God, this dogma of the Faith, is the mystery of the Incarnation. Having taken on a body and a soul by the overshadowing of the Holy Ghost, in the most pure womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Son of God became man to deliver us from sin and lead us to Heaven.

True God and true Man, Jesus Christ suffered and died on the Cross, then rose from the dead, ascended into Heaven, from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.

To give us grace here below, that is to say, divine life, Jesus Christ instituted seven sacraments. The first of them is Baptism, by which a soul becomes Christian and capable of receiving the other sacraments.
