Sermon of Saturday March 7, 2020 at Saint-Nicolas-du-Chardonnet (Paris) in English
On Saturday March 10, 2020, a Mass for times of epidemics was celebrated in the Saint-Nicolas du Chardonnet church in Paris.
In his sermon, Fr. Denis Puga emphasized the need to turn towards the Lord, especially in times of an epidemic. Now is not the time to empty the holy water fonts, to close the churches, or to deny the believers communion or the sacraments of the sick. On the contrary, epidemics like other public calamities are an opportunity to do penance and renew the spirit of faith.
God punishes proud mankind and punishes sinners who claim to do without Him. Especially during a time of apostasy by public authorities and the proliferation of laws contrary to the natural and divine order. Let us do penance, return to God, and practice charity towards all men, by employing supernatural means and the intercession of the saints.
God is good. He does not want the death of the sinner, but that he convert and live.
