The feast of St. John the Baptist is dear to the Filipino Catholics, and the Society of St. Pius X used June 24, 2018, as an opportunity to unfurl its missionary activity in the province of Sarangani.

The mission began in Kawas (Sarangani) on the evening of June 21, 2018; after Mass, the catechists gathered around Fr. Timothy Pfeiffer to settle the last details.

The next day was spent giving catechism classes and hearing confessions; in the evening, three adults received the sacrament of Baptism, becoming children of God.

Sunday, June 24, was solemnly celebrated in the mission: a procession, Mass with First Communions, and the consecration of the new members of the Militia Immaculatae.

The afternoon was spent in more recreational activities, olympics and singing contests, while Father left to visit the sick and bring them the sacraments.

This summer 2018 is off to a promising start in this province of the Archipelago where the SSPX exercises the missionary role the Church has always exercised: turning souls away from the darkness of paganism by bringing them the sacraments and preaching the Gospel to them.

The Society of St. Pius X thanks all those who offer prayers or material contributions in support of an apostolic activity whose fruits continue to contribute to the saving influence of the Church.
