Ffp2 (KN95) masks in all closed places, “basic green pass” for pilgrims, “reinforced green pass” for all staff: the decree signed by the Secretary of State of the Holy See, and published in the Osservatore Romano, extends, until the end of April, the drastic measures put in force by the Vatican, while the rest of the Peninsula is reducing its anti-covid system.Ffp2 (KN95) masks in all closed places, “basic green pass” for pilgrims, “reinforced green pass” for all staff: the decree signed by the Secretary of State of the Holy See, and published in the Osservatore Romano, extends, until the end of April, the drastic measures put in force by the Vatican, while the rest of the Peninsula is reducing its anti-covid system.Ffp2 (KN95) masks in all closed places, “basic green pass” for pilgrims, “reinforced green pass” for all staff: the decree signed by the Secretary of State of the Holy See, and published in the Osservatore Romano, extends, until the end of April, the drastic measures put in force by the Vatican, while the rest of the Peninsula is reducing its anti-covid system.Ffp2 (KN95) masks in all closed places, “basic green pass” for pilgrims, “reinforced green pass” for all staff: the decree signed by the Secretary of State of the Holy See, and published in the Osservatore Romano, extends, until the end of April, the drastic measures put in force by the Vatican, while the rest of the Peninsula is reducing its anti-covid system.Ffp2 (KN95) masks in all closed places, “basic green pass” for pilgrims, “reinforced green pass” for all staff: the decree signed by the Secretary of State of the Holy See, and published in the Osservatore Romano, extends, until the end of April, the drastic measures put in force by the Vatican, while the rest of the Peninsula is reducing its anti-covid system.Ffp2 (KN95) masks in all closed places, “basic green pass” for pilgrims, “reinforced green pass” for all staff: the decree signed by the Secretary of State of the Holy See, and published in the Osservatore Romano, extends, until the end of April, the drastic measures put in force by the Vatican, while the rest of the Peninsula is reducing its anti-covid system.Ffp2 (KN95) masks in all closed places, “basic green pass” for pilgrims, “reinforced green pass” for all staff: the decree signed by the Secretary of State of the Holy See, and published in the Osservatore Romano, extends, until the end of April, the drastic measures put in force by the Vatican, while the rest of the Peninsula is reducing its anti-covid system.

If flexibility in ecclesiastical discipline seems to have become the rule under the current pontificate, the same is not true with health issues, when an examination is made of the system put in place in October 2021 in order to fight against the extension of SARS-CoV-2 in the smallest state in the world.

An American cardinal, known for his opposition to current reformism, learned this the hard way a few days ago when he was denied access to one of the curial buildings, on the pretext that his vaccination pass had not been updated since last March.

Is this the reason why the Osservatore Romano decided on April 20 to make public Cardinal Parolin’s circular for internal use, extending at least until the April 30, the drastic sanitary measures taken in the Vatican City State?

Be that as it may, “considering that the persistence of the pandemic requires specific extraordinary and exceptional measures,” the obligation to wear an ffp2 mask, and to be provided with the reinforced health pass - the Italian “super green pass,” which involves a complete vaccination schedule - is confirmed for “all the personnel of the dicasteries, organs and offices of the Curia and of the institutions linked to the Holy See,” as well as to all those who would participate in a seminar or a meeting within the leonine walls.

The treatment is less harsh for visitors to Museums and pilgrims, who are still required - in addition to wearing the mask - to present at least the “basic green pass,” which attests to the negative result of an approved test or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19.

The measure which caused a lot of ink to flow several months ago is also maintained: the one which provides for the suspension of all remuneration for staff members who do not wish to submit to the vaccination obligation.

We remember that at the end of last year, several Swiss Guards were forced to resign: one of them had incidentally confided to the Swiss press that he had been “very disappointed, even shocked by this brutal end” which came “from on high.”

A fairly stratospheric “on high,” since Pope Francis himself, after receiving the discharged Swiss Guards, orally deplored, in the words reported by the press, “the pressures he himself was undergoing” in this area.
