101st voyage for pope, next June 22

On May 8, the Holy See officially announced John Paul II’s visit to Bosnia-Herzegovina, in the Serbian enclave of Banja Luka, in the north of the country, on June 22.

For his 101^st apostolic visit outside of Italy, John Paul II will beatify a lay member of Catholic Action, Ivan Merz. After studying literature in Paris, Ivan Merz worked at the Catholic High School of Zagreb, where he died at the age of 32.
