The pope is due to meet the German bishops, chief politicians and delegations from Christian confessions on August 19 and 20. He will also make several visits, notably to the synagogue of Cologne.

Benedict XVI will meet the young people once again on the evening of Saturday 20, for the traditional vigil which will take place in Mariensfeld, in the west of Cologne.
