Benedict XVI Celebrated His 91st Birthday with His Family

When questioned during his presentation of a documentary on Benedict XVI, his personal secretary, Archbishop Georg Gänswein, gave some news of the pope emeritus, who celebrated his birthday with his brother on April 16, 2018, at the Mater Ecclesiae monastery.
“His mind is very good, his physical strength has decreased a little,” explained the prelate, who serves both as secretary to the pope emeritus and prefect of the Pontifical Household by the side of the currently reigning sovereign pontiff.
He's celebrating now at home with his brother, who was with us also this morning. We will go pray the rosary and then the Swiss Guard's band has prepared a small surprise, very typical from Germany. They will play two or three songs and after a short speech the celebration will continue.
This according to the close friend of Benedict XVI's interview with Rome Reports.
As for the current activities of the guest of Mater Ecclesiae, Archbishop Gänswein remained evasive: “Whether he is writing something important or not, I do not know, but he himself said that we should not expect anything academic.”
