France: The rector of the cathedral of Paris initiates a suit in civil law.

On October 25 in Paris, Msgr. Patrick Jacquin, rector of Notre-Dame de Paris initiated a suit for action against the religious purpose of Notre-Dame de Paris and asked for one euro in damages and interest and the publication of the judgment in five press outlets.

Switzerland: Protestants desperately seeking pastors

On November 4 the reformed churches of German-speaking Switzerland launched a campaign to promote the study of theology using the slogan “Theology opens you to the world”. The growing disaffection of students for the field of theology at the University is the reason for this campaign, which seeks to curb the coming dearth of pastors.

Astrid Maeder, a leader of the Theology sector in the heart of the Reformed Churches Bern-Jura-Soleure, declared that “the difficulty of undertaking these studies is often due to a less-than-clear, even a false image of theology and the pastoral”. Also, this campaign is supposed to go on for an entire year and throughout the whole of the Swiss Romande.
