The faithful once again turned out in large numbers for the annual pilgrimage to Lourdes organized by the Society of Saint Pius X for the feast of Christ the King.

Saturday, October 26, saw a slightly modified program this year.

At 2:00 pm, the rosary was recited in the Basilica of St. Pius X before Solemn High Mass at 2:30 pm, celebrated by Fr. Benoît-Joseph de Villemagne.

At 4:00 pm, the Stations of the Cross for the sick took place in the meadow, while the Stations of the Cross for the faithful were held on the Hill of Espélugues, which features a monumental Stations of the Cross with life-size figures.

At 8:30 pm, the Rosary was meditated before the Blessed Sacrament in the Basilica of St. Pius X, in place of the torchlight procession. In fact, the latter had been banned by the Hautes-Pyrénées prefecture, due to the Vigipirate plan [a strategy to prevent terrorism], which is at its highest alert level.
