Columbian undertakers offer to family members and friends of the deceased unable to attend to follow the funeral on the Internet.
According to the daily El Comercio in its October 5 edition, persons grieving over the death of a relative can thus connect by means of a webcam. Members of the deceased, who lived legally or illegally abroad, are mainly interested by this offer. But prisoners are likewise among the “customers.”
This service, the daily says, can be requested locally and at no extra charge by the mourning family. “This service is meant for all those who, for financial or juridical reasons, cannot come to pay a last farewell to a dear one,” announces a Columbian undertaker.
