Dillwyn: Ordinations to Minor Orders and the Subdiaconate - 2025
On the Feast of Our Lady of Compassion, which fell on the Friday of Passion Week, Bishop Fellay ordained 34 seminarians to the Minor Orders.
22 seminarians (21 American and 1 Chinese) received the Orders of Porter and Lector.
12 seminarians (9 Americans, 1 Nigerian, and 1 Singaporean) received the Orders of Exorcist and Acolyte.
Following the reception of Orders, 5 seminarians (4 Americans and one Irish) made their perpetual engagement into the Society of Saint Pius X.
The subdiaconate, which is the first of the Major Orders, binds the ordinand to perpetual chastity. Four Americans, one Irishman, and one Benedictine received the subdiaconate from Bishop Fellay on April 12, 2025
