France: Catholic Family Movement Congress, July 4-6

Source: FSSPX News

After last year addressing the importance of good cultural transmission to our children, the Catholic Family Movement (MCF) this summer is working on the fundamentals of healthy family building under the theme: "The Family, a Gift from the Heart of God."

St. Paul describes marriage as modeled on the union of Christ and the Church. Contrary to modern sirens, it should be recalled that man and woman are made to complement each other harmoniously in order to create a united, fruitful, and lasting home, the basic unit of society.

The congress theme will be explored from various perspectives:

  • Spiritual: The family, a gift from the heart of God.
  • Historical: The changing roles of fathers and mothers throughout history.
  • Political and Societal: The current destruction of the traditional family and the responses to it.
  • Educational: Raising our sons and daughters according to their nature so that they know how to respond to God's destiny: religious life or the parents of tomorrow.

In addition to six plenary conferences, a roundtable will present and highlight outstanding initiatives to protect the family. Thematic workshops will provide opportunities for discussion and reflection on several key topics related to the family.

Speakers will include Fr. Gonzague Peignot, District Superior of France for the Society of St. Pius X; Fr. Louis-Edouard Meugniot, school principal; Gabrielle Cluzel, journalist; Marc and Maryvonne Pierre, pedagogy trainers; Guillaume d'Alançon, founder of the Louis et Zélie childcare centers; and Marie-Paule Vannier, history teacher.

Finally, numerous small group workshops will be offered to families in attendance to extend discussions on the theme of the Congress or general educational topics.
