France: Ever increasing number of Islamic mosques

An increasing proportion since, at the latest count, the mosques held by these radicals were estimated at 20 in the Paris region. It is the department of Seine-Saint-Denis which has the largest number. They are controlled mainly by the salafists, a fundamentalist movement on the increase in France, which recruits heavily among young immigrants. Another marked tendency has come to light through the RGPP report: that of Islamic crèches. Several have been closed, notably at Fontenay-aux-Roses, at Argenteuil and at Antony, on the grounds that their directors have participated in training for the Jihad or holy war.
