France : Pentecost Pilgrimage 2011

The pilgrimage of Pentecost 2011 from Chartres to Paris will take place June 11, 12 and 13, on the theme “True King, You are such in this Host”.  In order to render public and solemn homage to the Holy Eucharist, the pilgrims' entry into Paris on Monday afternoon will be a procession of the Blessed Sacrament with several hundred altar boys in red cassocks leading the clergy in surplus to the Place Vauban.  The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed on a magnificently decorated chariot, thus raised up to be seen and adored by all.

Bishop Bernard Fellay explains in the preface of the doctrinal and spiritual document: “In this period of our history, in which this sacrament is as it were adulterated and even denatured by all sorts of innovations and lacks of respect or adoration, may the Holy Eucharist shine like a torch desiring to set our souls aflame, may the Holy Mass whose most beautiful fruit it is be the sun of our days, the light that guides our steps and warms our hearts.  And above all, communion after communion, may it be in it that we drink in the spirit of Our Lord which is none other than the spirit of His cross, the spirit of His Sacrifice.  If He becomes our food, our comfort and our strength, it is first of all so that we may abandon ourselves ever more to Him, to His divine wishes, to the imitation of His examples and to the conformity to His Passion”.

For this occasion, a poster contest is open to all, on the theme of this year's pilgrimage: “True King, You are such in this Host”.  All works realized on paper or computer should be addressed before Wednesday, December 8, 2010 to: Association Pèlerinages de Tradition – 23, rue Poliveau – 75005 PARIS – email: [email protected]

The 2011 doctrinal and spiritual document is available for 10 euros in the chapels serviced by the Society of St. Pius X, as well as on the pilgrimage's website: (Source: Pèlerinages de Tradition – DICI n°225, November 20, 2010)
