Islamists Attack Asia Bibi’s Daughters

A group of Islamists shot at the house where two of Asia Bibi’s daughters have taken refuge, announced Joseph Nadeem, the guardian of the family of this Catholic woman who was condemned to death in 2010 for a false accusation of blasphemy and acquitted on October 31, 2018.
“We are afraid. These past days, they pulled on the gate of the house where we are staying. We are constantly receiving threats, and I have been followed more than once,” says Joseph Nadeem, the head of the Renaissance Education Foundation that has been taking care of Asia Bibi’s family in Pakistan ever since she was condemned in 2010.
Asia Bibi has been informed of the precarious situation her family is in: “I met her right after she was released, and we speak with her on the phone every day. She is very worried for her daughters,” explains Joseph Nadeem.
He hopes to “be able to leave Pakistan soon to go live in a safe place” with the whole family.
“And we hope that both our families will be able to spend this Christmas in Rome,” he concluded in an interview published on November 29, 2018.
