Benedict XVI will go to Turin, in Northern Italy, on May 2, 2010, on the occasion of the display of the Holy Shroud, which will take place next year from April 10 to May 23. “The pope’s visit is connected with the great event of the display of the Holy Shroud,” read the press release from the Holy See Press Office. After having taking time for personal prayer before the Holy Shroud, the pope will offer Mass on St. John’s Square in Turin and will pray the Angelus. In the afternoon, the pope will meet with the youth in the Church of “Santo Volto”. He will pay a short visit to the Cottolengo Hospital to meet and bless the sick. The last display of the Shroud of Turin dates back to the year 2000. (DICI n° 205 - 11/19/2009 – Source: vatican.va)
