Japan Relief Program

Source: FSSPX News

Dear Friends and Benefactors,

The District of Asia has been slow in responding to the recent tsunami, earthquake and radiation problems in Japan, not knowing exactly how to help the victims of these calamities, especially since the issues at the Fukushima nuclear plant are still not settled.

Meanwhile, many donations have started to arrive from various parts of the world, as they did back in 2004-2005 for the other tsunami in Indonesia.

Thanks be to God, not a single one of our faithful has perished in these events, however, the parents of a newly baptized young lady from Tokyo completely lost their house located in Minami Soma, near Fukushima. Thus, through them we do have a direct contact with some of the victims.

At the present moment, as I am writing (on April 14), no one of Minami Soma knows when it will be safe to go back to the town. The reconstruction housing plan, either in Minami Soma or in another location, is at a standstill because of the nuclear plant situation. As soon as something precise does start, we will be in a position to contribute to it directly through these parents of our faithful.  Meanwhile, we have opened an account to collect all the donations towards this project which may take a few more months to materialize.

Anyone wishing to contribute may do so in the following ways:
