On February 25th, Mouammar Gaddafi issued a call for a Holy War against Switzerland. The present dictator of Lybia made his provocative speech before an assembly gathered to commemorate the anniversary of Mahomet’s birth. With reference to the Swiss referendum voted in November 2009, which forbade the building of any new minarets, Gaddafi declared that «those who destroy God’s mosques deserve to be attacked through a jihad; if Switzerland was on our frontier, we would fight her». He advised, in a style little suited to diplomacy, a boycott on all Swiss products: «Boycott Switzerland: boycott its goods, its airplanes, its ships, its embassies; boycott this unbelieving, apostate race, aggressor of the houses of Allah» (Le Figaro- DICI no. 211, 06/03/10)
