On Friday, June 3, 2016, on the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Bishop Alfonso de Galarreta ordained 7 new priests at the St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary in Winona (United States): 6 Americans and 1 Englishman.

The Priestly Society of St. Pius X now has 600 priests.

In the coming month, 12 more priests will be ordained:

  • 8 at the Seminary of St. Pius X in Econe (Switzerland), on June 29: 5 Frenchmen, 1 Canadian and 2 Italians.
  • 3 at the Herz Jesu Seminary in Zaitzkofen (Germany), on July 2: 2 Germans, 1 Spanish.
  • And 1 Frenchman at the Church of Saint-Nicolas-du-Chardonnet (France), on July 2.

The Society of St. Pius X, a work of the Church founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre to preserve and transmit the Catholic priesthood, gives thanks to God and beseeches the Divine Master to send workers to His harvest:
O Lord, grant us priests!
O Lord, grant us holy priests!
O Lord, grant us many holy priests!
