Pope Francis and Paul VI

The reigning Pope deeply admires Pope Paul VI, who is a model for him. It is also notable that the current pontificate brings us back to the darkest hours of the post-conciliar crisis that immediately followed the Second Vatican Council.

At the audience on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, Francis magnified Paul VI as a great example of holiness: “May the example of this Bishop of Rome who reached the heights of holiness encourage everyone to generously embrace the Evangelical ideals. He recalled that May 29, 1920 marked the 100th anniversary of Paul VI’s priestly ordination. This is the day fixed for “St. Paul VI.”

On the occasion of this anniversary, FSSPX.News again publishes its dossier on the “canonization” of Paul VI.

If holiness consists in provoking one of the most serious crises that the Church has known, in ransacking the liturgy, promoting an anti-traditional spirit, practicing a destructive liberalism, bringing about “the self-demolition of the Church” and “the infiltration of the smoke of Satan,” leaving the field open to modernism, then Paul VI is certainly holy.
