“The reform of the reform” according to Cardinal Arinze

Cardinal Francis Arinze, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship gave an interview on February 10 to Catholic News Service (CNS).

 Apart from an extreme moderation, the present conditions for the implementation of the indult to celebrate the Tridentine Mass are, according to him, satisfactory. He had already said as much at a press conference during the last synod consecrated to the Eucharist.

 No doubt the Cardinal gave his opinion during the meeting on February 13 when the pope consulted the cardinals on the opportunity of lifting the sanctions against the bishop of SSPX and of granting a wider indult to celebrate the traditional Mass.
