The Apostolic Penitentiary has attached a plenary indulgence under the usual conditions for faithful who pray before the relics presented for their veneration by the traveling exhibition “Treasures of the Church”.

The decree was published in Latin in May, 2018, reports the National Catholic Register. “Treasures of the Church” is an exhibition of 150 authentic relics that is currently traveling around the world. These precious remains of the saints have already visited many dioceses and been venerated by several hundreds of thousands of faithful.

The relics include those of the Twelve Apostles, St. Joseph, Sts. Maria Goretti and Therese of Lisieux, Sts. Francis of Assisi, Anthony of Padua, and St. Thomas Aquinas, the Common Doctor of the Church.

Two of the most remarkable pieces are one of the largest fragments of the True Cross and a piece of Our Lady’s veil.

Each exposition begins with an explanation of the veneration of relics in the Church. Visitors are then given the time to venerate the relics, each of which is accompanied by an explanation of the life of the saint.
