On November 8, 2013, Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, president of the Pontifical Council for Culture, Ivan Dionigi, president of the Pontifical Academy for Latin, and writer Valerio Manfredi, presented the new journal, Latinitas. It is divided into four sections: history and philosophy, contemporary Latin literature, classical teaching and culture, and news of the Academy for Latin. This publication is counting on contributions from several scholars and specialists.

The Pontifical Academy for Latin was instituted on November 10, 2012, by Benedict XVI’s Motu Proprio Latina Lingua, with the goal of promoting the Latin language, “written as well as spoken”.
