On Sunday, May 14, 2017, the community of the chapel of Our Lady of Fatima, located in Martínez, to the north of Buenos Aires, celebrated several anniversaries: the one-hundredth anniversary of the first apparition of Our Lady of Fatima, the 40th anniversary of the Society of Saint Pius X’s arrival in Martínez, and the 27th anniversary of the chapel itself.

Martínez is the neighborhood of Buenos Aires where is located the Headquarters of the District of the SSPX for South America.

Over 200 people attended the Solemn High Mass celebrated by Fr. Edgardo Albamonte, one of the founders of the District House in Martínez. He was assisted by Frs. Jésus and José María Mestre, there to represent the seminary of La Reja. In his sermon, Fr. Jean-Michel Gomis insisted upon the special importance of devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary in our times, as a remedy for the universal evils that afflict souls, families, and the Church.

The Mass was followed by a procession through the streets, with songs and the recitation of the Holy Rosary. The ceremony ended with the consecration of the chapel to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, solemnly read by Fr. Eduard Blandón and all the faithful.
