The Spanish-language Seminary of Nuestra Señora Corredentora in La Reja, Argentina, follows the school year of the southern hemisphere. Thus, the cassock is generally given around August 15.

It was therefore on the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary that the seminary Director gave the cassock to the ten seminarians in their year of spirituality: 3 Argentinians, 2 Brazilians, 1 Dominican, and 4 Mexicans; which represents a satisfactory year.

In his sermon, Fr. Jean de Lassus, Director of the seminary, invited the seminarians to wear the cassock as the outward manifestation of the spirit of mortification, which is the condition of the true Christian Hope and reminds today’s materialist world that happiness is found in Heaven, in living united to God.

We entrust these seminarians to our Mother assumed into Heaven, so that they may worthily wear the religious habit and faithfully serve Our Lord. May Our Lady bless and protect these vocations.
