Taking of the Habit and Religious Professions for the Brothers in Australia

It had been ten years since the Holy Cross Seminary in Goulburn (Australia) last had Society Brothers take the habit. What joy for the community to see three postulants receive the religious habit on September 28, 2018, feast of St. Wenceslaus, patron of far-away Bohemia!

On that day Matthew Regis, an Indian, received the name Brother Daniel Giuseppe. Jason Caré, an Australian, became Brother Dismas Mary, and Kizito Udele, from Nigeria, took the name of Brother Kizito.

Fr. Paul Robinson, the novice master, celebrated the Solemn High Mass for the taking of the habit that was duly preceded by the Brothers’ annual retreat preached by Fr. Timothy Pfeiffer, prior of St. Joseph’s priory in Davao, in the Philippines.

The next day, on the feast of St. Michael the Archangel, patron of the Society’s religious, Brothers Francis and Joseph Xavier, from India and Canada respectively, renewed their temporary vows before the director of the seminary, Fr. Daniel Themann.

For the glory of God, their own sanctification and the salvation of souls, the Brothers of the Society of St. Pius X consecrate themselves to God in the religious life. Their entire lives and all their actions are offered to God through Our Lord, especially on the altar at Holy Mass. They make vows of poverty, chastity and obedience that unite them more closely to the Divine Master.

The Brothers’ specific goal is to help the Society priests in every aspect of their ministry, be it by taking care of material tasks or by participating more directly in their apostolate in chapels, schools or mission.
