Fr. Frank A. Pavone, head of the American organization “Priests for Life”, has been rewarded for his commitment in favor of the defense of life. This American priest has been honored by the Association for the Arc de Triomphe of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and by the International Sanctuary of the Holy Innocents. Presided over by the New York lawyer Laurence Behr, this Catholic association of Buffalo, intends to erect a 700 feet high arch on the shores of Lake Eerie, near Niagara Falls and the Canadian border, as well as a sanctuary dedicated to the victims of abortion all over the world.

Laurence Behr presented Fr. Pavone with the award for his courageous and tireless commitment “in favor of the weakest and most vulnerable members of society, unborn children, the sick and the elderly”.

The “Priests for Life” reject the use of violence “against all human beings”. They speak in favor of giving information and non-violent methods. They send out educational material to American parishes during electoral periods with the aim of influencing the American electorate. During the recent American presidential election last November, the organization publicly expressed its delight that President Bush had “clearly won the Catholic vote” against John Kerry, because of his “respect for human life and the sanctity of marriage”.
