Vatican: The Existence of a Homosexual Network Confirmed
In the German-speaking Swiss newspaper Schweiz am Sonntag on January 19, 2014, the former commander of the Swiss Guard, Elmar Mäder, confirmed Pope Francis’ statement on the existence of a homosexual pressure group in the Vatican: “I cannot deny the fact that there is a homosexual network. My experience confirms its existence.” According to Commander Mäder, many homosexuals tend to be more loyal to each other than to other persons or institutions. For such a loyalty to go so far as to constitute a network or a sort of secret pact is unacceptable, he esteems. He himself never promoted homosexuals, “because in the security profession, I could only use perfectly loyal executives. The risk of disloyalty would have been too great for me.”
On January 16, at the presentation of the Holy See’s report to the UN Council for children’s rights in Geneva, the Vatican revealed that 384 priests had been reduced to the lay state by the Holy See in 2011 and 2012, for sexual abuse.
On January 14, the diocese of Stockton, California, declared bankruptcy as a result of the important indemnities it has to pay for sexual abuse committed by members of its clergy. It is the 10th Catholic diocese of the United States to have recourse to the protection of Chapter 11 of federal bankruptcy law. This diocese of 236,000 faithful has already paid 37 million dollars in compensations with regards to 38 sexual abuse cases.
