Pakistan: Young Christian killed by the Taliban

A young Christian woman was killed by the Taliban in northern Pakistan for providing assistance to her cousin who had recently converted to Christianity.

According to a press release from Vatican news agency Fides dated 3 March, the young woman whose exact age was not specified had spent months on the run with her cousin, who was actively sought out by the Taliban after his conversion. Armed Islamist militants discovered their hideout recently. The young man was able to escape, but his cousin, known as Lily, was shot dead.

According to Fides, the “Christian community of the region” expressed their “indignation and concern” faced with the violence perpetrated by the Taliban.
