Congo: An Islamist attack kills 30
After the attack of the ADF rebellion, November 29, 2015.
Clashes between the army of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and an Islamist group resulted in thirty dead and several wounded on November 30, 2015, in the eastern part of the DRC. According to the Vatican news service Fides, 43 buildings were set on fire by the attackers, among them a healthcare center. Fides noted, the day after the attack, that the assailants are members of a jihadist group called the ADF (“Allied Democratic Force”) from Uganda, a bordering country. Among the victims were fourteen guerillas of the ADF, eight Congolese soldiers, seven civilians hacked to death with machetes and a U.N. peacekeeper.
