Brazil: Former Femen activist campaigns against abortion
Militant Brazilian feminist Sara Winter (in the center of the picture) has publicly regretting taking part for years in the fight for abortion rights. “I made a huge mistake,” she said in late December 2015 on her Facebook page, according to the American group Catholic News Agency (CNA) in an article published January 6.
Prior to this, the young woman was chiefly known as one of the founders of the Brazilian branch of Femen, a radical feminist group, one of whose methods is to protest topless, particularly in churches. Today, the one who was “an emblem of homosexual and anti-Christian activism,” according to Wikipedia, encourages feminists to “take nuns as their role models” because they “protect rape victims and young women expecting a child as well as those in dangerous situations, by offering them shelter and all kinds of assistance.”
Sara Winter said that it was the birth of her child which had changed her world view. “I ask pardon from the depths of my heart (…) I was lacking in love—which changed when I became a mother—a love which came to me after profound reflection on current militant feminist.” She described the pro-abortion movement as led by “rich men who want to reduce the population of the country,” and in which “orgies, drug and alcohol abuse, and fraud” are common practice.
