Marriages Weathering the Storm

As a follow-up to his first book, The Wine of Cana (Angelus Press), Fr. Ludger Grün, a Swiss German priest and member of the Society of Saint Pius X, has published a precious booklet in French to help overcome trials in marriage: Les mariages dans l’orage [Marriages in the storm] (Via Romana).

As a help to young families and to engaged couples, Fr. Grün offers his concrete experience as one privileged to witness marriages and their crises over the last 20 years. He casts a charitable and truthful eye on the chief dangers threatening men and women committed to common life and the education of children, to help overcome the trials of couples and to save families in difficulty through a rediscovery of the graces of the sacramental bond and mutual relations founded on the love of the Holy Family.

Readers are invited to share this meeting with Jesus, in order to reorient their marriages towards salvation, the only cure for the wounds afflicting injured spouses. It is a restoration of the foundation of the sacrament of marriage. No more stairs to descend; rather this offers a joyful ascension and conversion to the New Jerusalem. “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither hath it entered into the heart of man, what things God hath prepared for them that love him.’ (1 Cor. 2:9)
