Prayers Requested for Bishop Huonder
Since March 19, Bishop Vitus Huonder has been hospitalized in Chur, Switzerland with serious health problems. Following his retirement as bishop of Chur in 2019, Bishop Huonder has resided at the Institut Sancta Maria, a boarding school for boys operated by the Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) in Wangs, in the St-Gallen canton.
Very weak but quite lucid, cheerful, and calm, Bishop Huonder edifyingly offers his sufferings for the Church.
The SSPX's Superior General, Fr. Davide Pagliarani, was able to visit the bishop. Moreover, each day a priest of the Institut Sancta Maria comes to bring him Holy Communion. Bishop Huonder is very touched and grateful for these marks of spiritual and fraternal support.
The General House of the SSPX asks for your fervent prayers for the health of Bishop Huonder during this Holy Week and coming Easter season.
